You receive an NDR due to the fact that the target email address has issues and your email cannot be delivered to the destination. This may happen due to various reasons including invalid domain names, invalid email username, mail server issues, target email box being out of space etc. Imagine a scenario such that, you send some twenty thousand emails as part of a campaign and about 30% of the target email addresses have issues. Now you receive about six thousand emails saying those emails were not delivered! Instant Verification

eVerify offers a fast verification process for email addresses in your list providing you instant feedback on their validity. You can have predefined rules set for this verification process, so these rules are applied during the verification. As an example, certain email domains can be marked for permanent deletion from the list, some domains can be marked as valid etc. This helps to make the verification more effective and efficient. eVerify offers another feature for you to inspect the verification process real-time if you wish to, but this is not recommended if your list contains thousands of email addresses!

Import Email Address Lists

When you work with multiple email clients and tools, it is natural for you to have email address lists in different formats. In a scenario where you are provided with an email address list by a third party, the ability to import email address lists from different formats to your tool comes in handy. eVerify supports three main categories of imports; import from another format, import from an ODBC data source, and import from Windows Address Book. Under the first import category, eVerify supports formats such as Paradox, Dbase, text, HTML, MS Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, QuattroPro, XML, and MS Access databases. For ODBC data sources, all major databases are supported by eVerify that supports ODBC connections. Apart from that, you can import email address directly from Windows Address Book (Windows Mail and MS Outlook Express).

Big Mailing Lists

The email address list of an email marketing campaign could have hundreds of thousands of entries, just like in a mass email manager. Most tools out there in the market fail to manage high volumes of email addresses and so are unable to deliver the business advantage expected out of them. eVerify can support up to a hundred thousand email addresses in a single list but it is recommended not to import more than fifty thousand email addresses due to the time it would take for importing.

The information that is captured by logging is; good email addresses, bad email addresses, the email addresses that did not return any state, the email addresses that matched your predefined rules, invalid email addresses and email addresses deleted from the list.

Multi-threaded Operations

When verifying email addresses, what if the software verifies them one at a time? Can you imagine the time it would take to verify thousands of email addresses? eVerify offers the simplest solution for this by introducing multi-threaded verification process. Once the verification process starts, a number of verification processes are executed in parallel so the time it takes for the entire process is significantly reduced. The number of threads (parallel verification processes) can be defined under “Options”. The rule of thumb for a higher number of threads is a fast internet connection. If the thread value is high, you need to have a higher bandwidth connection to Internet. Otherwise, your internet connection will be flooded and you may not be able to get anything done. If the thread value is less, then the verification process will take more time. It is understood that the thread value should be kept in a value where neither it slows down the verification process nor it floods the network connection.

As mentioned in “Import Email Address Lists”, the ability to use email address lists among a number of tools is a critical requirement for the business world. Therefore, eVerify offers functionality for exporting verified email lists in different formats for email marketing tools such as ePostMailer.
